Educational Linux is based on O.S. Desktop operating system (KDE version), and the installation process was simplified in a way the user only chooses his machine login and password, and whether his data must be saved or not.

The system is installed from a 700MB CD-ROM and installs the educational softwares from patterns selected by Ministério da Educação, allowing teachers and students to have all the necessary tools for their activities. Nowadays it is used in 120.000 machines in public schools throughout Brazil.
